MID-DAY-MEAL PROGRAMME UNDER GOLAGHAT DISTRICT


   

A BRIEF REPORT

Cooked Mid Day Meal programme is a flagship programmes of this Department through which the nutritional support has been provided to the student of class I to VIII with seperate quantity of ingredients.

The student of class I to V is provided cooked meal during recreation period every academic day with. (i) Rice -100 gram (ii) Pulses-20 gram (iii) Vegetates-50 gram (iv) Oil and fat-5 ml (v) Salt and condiments as required (vi) Fuel.

Rs. 3.11 has been allotted for one meal for a student of Lower primary School other than the cost of rice.

For Upper Primary student (Class VI-VII) meal is provided with (i) Rice-150 gram (ii) Pulses-35 gram (iii) Vegetates-75 gram (iv) Oil and fat-7.5 ml (v) Salt and condiments as required (vi) Fuel.

Rs. 4.65 has been allotted for one meal for a student of Upper Primary School other than the cost of rice.
The above expenditure is identified as cooking cost

For preparation of meal every school managing committee of concern Institute is allowed to engage cook cum helper as per need like. (i) Upto 25 enrolment -1 no (ii) Upto 100 enrolment -2 no and one additional cook-cum-helper against every additional 100 students.

The Government has taken steps for providing honorarium to the cook-cum-helper to pay Rs.1000/- PM against each cook-cum-helper from December -2009. Necessary fund is shared by Central Govt. and State Government as 90% and 10% respectively.

The rice for this purpose is allotted to Deputy Commissioner ,Golaghat through FCI and supply the material to the school through co-operative Society of this district.

To look after the implementation process of the programme all the concerning officers like DEEO,D.I.s of Schools and BEEOís also S.I.ís are directed to visit the Schools and to submit report to the DEE.Assam regularly.
During 2011-12

  • Total opted students was 79595 nos. in LP stage(Average per day)
  • Total opted student was 44484 nos. in UP stage ( do )
  • Total No. of days achieved 191 days.
